The annual BCPC Congress held in Glasgow is the leading International event for all those
involved in the world-wide crop production industry. These proceedings include all the platform and poster
presentations made during the Congress. This includes the four keynote presentations from Professor Sir John Marsh,
Dr Robert Holm, Professor David Coggin and Dr Chris Brown, who provided an overview to the three
Congress themes.
The three Congress themes were developed by a series of presentaions covering

Crop protection - this included the announcement of new products and uses for crop protection, resistance
and fungicide strategies, seed treatment, invasive pests and diseases plus non-chemcial and biological control.
- Environment and regulation - the impact of loss of active ingredients, international pesticide regulation,
ecotoxicology adn regualtion, advances in risk managemnet, waste management and agri-environment support
schemes.
- Crop production and the food chain - mycotoxins, food quality and safety issues, harmonisation of MRLs
in the EU, the impact of pesticide regulations on world trade, minimising residues in food and prospects for using
biotechnology to produce healthier food.
